He is da Man

When someone says if you are a backward thinker you will be slowing your forward-looking process. All I am trying to say is if you are a nostalgic person, you tend to get content with what you have but might stall on your very growth. Still doesn’t make sense. It is okay and you will when you come to feel that you’ve grown older. Maybe when you can taste the sense of being in your manhood.

Received a message from an old buddy last night, and my cell phone screen read……..
Time and tide wait for no one; still remember we were 17th years old? Cherish everything belongs to you….”

Childhood minus One

Looking the size of mine now does not really tell how ‘tiny’, em… correction, skinny I was before does it? I was a big bully when I was a troubling teenage. Well, it is true to some extent, actually I was not a bully but I was bullied all the times when back in secondary school. Believe it or not all guys back in high school just want to be tai lou (big brother), little to my surprise it was all due to the ‘good work’ past through from HK firms – Young & Dangerous. Doesn’t that ring he bell? The firms went so overwhelmingly busting in mid & late 90s.

If you were born in early 80s, you would grow up watching Tai Si Toi and listening to Beyond’s songs. Computer? What the heck was computer to me at that time? I was so stupid to try to get the idea between a ‘Window’ and a computer. MIRC was the most ancient ‘tool’ I ever knew how to operate in a computer. Look at the kids now…. Sigh~~~. In Malaysia, if you grew up from those more kampongs (rural areas) town, you would go fishing using a hand-rode in the river sides or the big ‘longkang’, if not under the bridge.

Rewind a few years back, four heavenly kings were the biggest hit in town. Only some so-called self-proclaimed anti-fashioner went against it and supported the alternative like Oasis, Blur, the Wallflowers, Scorpions, and Metallica.. of course Metallica. Well, for those who do not know who four heavenly old c*nt are, here is a list of name to help you refresh your memories:
Andy Lau,
Leon Lai,…….. I’ll stop the list before I can’t stop myself throwing out.

Before graduating primary school you would exchange ‘memorial diary’ to scribble a few words with your classmates and cried as if there was no tomorrow when the ‘good-bye’ song was sung in the last assembly of your year. Ok la, I admit I did this before and found it girly. You were allocated a roaster for all the once-a-week duty (cleaning the window, weeping the floor, clearing the bin etc). Much to my surprise now, discrimination already took some part of form back in my school time where those you got to the last duty of the list *cough* clearing the bin *cough*. It is either you are smelly, stupid in class, always fail in your exam, or very ugly.

Some people would even performed extra duties ‘voluntarily’. This is true when the teacher’s pet that records who do their work and who don’t also the one you had a crush on. Much to my astonishment now, I could not believe that I did that on countless occasions. Shame on myself!!!

Funnily but truthfully, the friends you made in this period of you before entering your 20s are large but only few stay close and will remain so forever.
Standing in the era of entering my 30, I cannot help thinking back all this, I would not be the person I am today had I not had these childhood.
